Is testing required for a single-family home?

Texas generally doesn't require an asbestos survey for single-family homes the way it does for public and commercial buildings. But the health risk from disturbing asbestos is the same in a house as anywhere else, which is why testing before a remodel, purchase or demolition is a smart move.

Do you test commercial buildings?

No. I focus only on residential testing: houses you live in, are buying or selling, are remodeling, or are tearing down.

What happens if my test comes back positive?

Don't disturb the material. Depending on its condition and your plans, it may be fine to leave in place, or it may need to be removed by a licensed abatement contractor. I'll walk you through what the results mean so you can decide your next step.
